Session 94 - Dragon vs Dragonborn

20th December 2024 In-game timeline: Start of session: 1490DR Mirtul 7. End of session: 1490DR Mirtul 7 Deep in enemy territory, in the Sintara clan village, our "heroes" are led at spearpoint before the village elders - two elderly, female dragonborn. Focussing all attention on Jaxii, the elders interrogate the party as to the reason that they are here, and the group try to persuade the elders that they need help in saving the world. The elders are unimpressed, in the most, and ask why they should help on of their enemy. The Sintarans do admit that they were visited by Neverember, and by Castellan and, although they try to hide it, the group get the distinct opinion that one of the elders revealed more to Castellan than she is letting on. After more discussion, where the group say they do not believe that Graxis murdered Voldis, but offered no proof otherwise, and where our "heroes" expressed a desire to end the feud, but could not convince the elders that the rest...

Session 93 - Jaxii Comes Home

14th November 2024 In-game timeline: Start of session: 1490DR Tarsakh 27. End of session: 1490DR Mirtul 7 Now in Baldur's Gate, our "Heroes" ask around about ravens and large, colourful birds that may have been sighted. Ravens are common, giant birds less so. Iwee chats to a local raven, who is as helpful as he can be, which is not very helpful. Iwee names him Caw. He seems unimpressed at this. Jaxii and Derrick hire a horse. They spend the rest of the day coming up with a name for it. The final name was Mrs Marmalade. It was not worth the effort spent on it. Karoshi visits the temple. They set out towards the Storm Horn mountains. The party eventually work out that they will pass relatively close to Moonfall, where Iwee's parents and sister still live. They decide to take a short detour to visit. This turns into a long detour when it turns out that it is a full moon the following day, and the adults are having to head off to the cave for the night and they are a litt...

Session 92 - Return of The Baron

10th November 2024 In-game timeline: Start of session: 1490DR Tarsakh 22. End of session: 1490DR Tarsakh 27 Back in Neverwinter, Derrick and Jaxii meet up with Devon, who thanks them for the information they helped obtain and told them to keep hold of the gold they were not intending to give back anyway, as reward for saving their two delegates who were also trapped in the house. Iwee finds out a little more about the escaped hag, whilst Karoshi asks about the Shadowfell, and racks his brain about the possible location of Demon's Gate. He is sure he has all the information he needs, just how to process it??!! The group, now fully sobered up and rested, decide to head out after Neverember, as they are concerned about the captured dragonborn. The Treasure of Neverwinter must wait, even if it does reputedly contain the Eye of Kronos. They decide the quickest way is by ship to Baldur's Gate, so they await, and then travel on, The Tired Adventurer captained by their friend, Grayson ...

Session 91 - Conversations With A Drunken Rabbit

8th  November 2024 In-game timeline: Start of session: 1490DR Tarsakh 20. End of session: 1490DR Tarsakh 22 Our "Heroes" spend some time debating whether to have a rest in the relatively safe room of the grand entrance hallway. They make up their mind quickly when they realise that as soon as they start to relax and rest their eyes and limbs, they begin to feel very, unnaturally, sleepy. Not wanting to risk falling asleep in this dream world, they decide to press on. Choosing another door from the hallway that they have yet to pick, they carefully enter a dark room. This room turns out to be an attic room, up a slight stairwell from the doorway, and seemingly kitted out as an alter to the undead lich king, Vecna. Even those of the group who have not heard of Vecna, or who do not recognise the statue of the one-handed and one-eyed evil deity are put off by the bones, blood and skulls holding torches that decorate the room. Session 90 - Pig-On-A-Spit!

6th October 2024 In-game timeline: Start of session: 1490DR Tarsakh 20. End of session: 1490DR Tarsakh 20 Karoshi leaves Sully on landing (who is too big to come through the door) and enters the ballroom. He sees only "himself" on the dance floor, plus his mentor, sister and mother. Wondering where the others are, but knowing they seemed to try to come out of the door he has just entered, he does the same… and enters the ballroom again by another door. Confused, but fairly quick thinking, he exits that door and arrives in the same playroom that the others entered a couple of minutes earlier. Derrick spots a colourful pebble in the middle of a large, but otherwise empty chess board that is laid upon the floor, taking up much of the room. He walks onto the board to get the pebble and immediately finds that he has turned into a black bishop as he steps onto the board. Not only that, a shimmering field of pale, translucent light seems to surround the entire board, cutting him off...

Session 89 - Lost In The Manor of Dreams

29th September 2024 In-game timeline: Start of session: 1490DR Tarsakh 20. End of session: 1490DR Tarsakh 20 Our "Heroes" wake in the inn in Helms Hold and become aware that Pacino has not returned from the manor house as he was instructed. Derrick is unable to contact him and fears that he has been killed. The group head down to breakfast and learn that Penny has still not returned and her parents, and Colwyn the bar owner, are all worried about her. Iwee tries to contact her using a Sending spell, but receives no reply. All our "Heroes" are concerned for her safety. So Derrick settles down to a full breakfast. Once sated, they head into the town towards Graysing Manor. The mists are quite imposing today, especially in the direction they are travelling, and it is not long before they are enveloped in unsettling fog - unable to see very far for very long, and all sound is muffled by the mists. As they progress slowly and cautiously, their minds are spooked by… visio...

Session 88 - Goblins, Bees, Mists and Motorcycles

7th September 2024 In-game timeline: Start of session: 1490DR Tarsakh 19. End of session: 1490DR Tarsakh 20 Our "Heroes" are mid-battle, beleaguered by goblins who are more annoying than they should be. Jaxii is frustrated. Standing in the middle of the pathway, unable to hit anything but raging in fury at every arrow that hits her - there are many. Derrick and Karoshi try to clear a path through the logs whilst Jaxii draws fire, albeit unwillingly and unplanned. Iwee has managed to lose one of her swarm of bees, and helps out by healing Jaxii of some of her wounds. Derrick and Karoshi manage to clear the logs and run towards the sniping goblins ahead. Gobby meanwhile dies, having been stung by multiple swarms of bees and being in pretty poor health to begin with. Jaxii rushes over to the goblins that have caused her so many problems so far and they try to run, allowing her a rare attack against them. Session 87 - Peppered by Arrows

30th August 2024 In-game timeline: Start of session: 1490DR Tarsakh 18. End of session: 1490DR Tarsakh 19 Before heading away from Neverwinter, our intrepid adventurers decide to spend some time in the library. Derrick's previous lack of success talking to any librarians, and his inability to hide his frustration at the slow pace of library attendants did not stop him heading to the large library in the Merchant's Quarter of Neverwinter. Him being accompanied by Jaxii did not fill Iwee or Karoshi with confidence, so they headed to the Temple of Moradin to see if the clerics there knew anything. They were all looking for information on The Five and the Cyan Revolution, especially where it related to Abbey Isle. Surprisingly, they all did a good job of finding out information and they gathered at the end of the day to combine their collective new-found knowledge about the history of the Cyan Revolution. Session 86 - Flight of the Neverember

9th August 2024 In-game timeline: Start of session: 1490DR Ches 30. End of session: 1490DR Tarsakh 18 After a long out-of-game absence, there was a lot of catching up to do, and reminders of what had happened to the characters to get them where they are now. During the time it took for the group to level up to level 8 in Settlestone, the party did some "stuff": Karoshi did some asking around about an Eldritch Claw Tattoo, which it turns out is a bit of a taboo subject, as are most things "eldritch" in respectable cities like Settlestone. However, Karoshi thinks that there may be information available somewhere about tweaking such magicks to make them more "acceptable", and will be on the lookout for such in the future. Iwee earnt some welcome gold playing to the very receptive dwarven crowds, pretending to be the charming bardish gnome, whilst in the background learning spells to grind her opponents into the ground by twisting their minds and screwing with...

Session 85 - Iwee Beats Up Derrick

12th December 2023 In-game timeline: Start of session: 1490DR Ches 17. End of session: 1490DR Ches 30 Our "Heroes" have faced undead, fey and fiend, dragons and monstrosities. But now they face their hardest challenge to date. One which strikes fear into all their hearts. A slightly damp ladder. Karoshi, with a dragon almost snapping at his heels, sits down to read up on climbing techniques using the library of books he brought with him for just such a situation. He proposes a method of scaling the ladder to the rest of the party. Their eyes glaze over after the first 15 minutes of explanation and they just nod, keen to get out of this dangerous cave and climb up to the dangerous mine. The method is put into practice. It proves to be a useful method, as during the long climb first Iwee, then Derrick and Jaxii all slip and fall at one stage of the climb and suffer a little damage, but a lot less than they would have done without all the rope and tackle that Karoshi had rigged ...
