Session 61 - Best Get Out of Neverwinter... Again!

13th December 2022 In-game timeline: Start of session: 1489DR Hammer 19. End of session: 1490DR Hammer 22 Our Heroes are still reeling from some of the revelations found in Dagult Neverember's manor house. Derrick's family tree suddenly got a lot more… complicated, and Iwee is convinced that there was a demon in the mirror in the secret room, though her evidence for this is a little flimsy and circumstantial. Iwee's concern deepens, however, when Derrick finds out from his Ember's Watch pals that they are looking for a female gnome who may have been up to no good on the previous night. Luckily the description they have is really vague, and Iwee had already decided to use a different disguise that day, so they think she is safe - for now. Iwee visits Kell Findra, the hag captured by the Naval Watch on the drifting Shadow Isle, using the contact, Reagan, provided by the Little Fingers, who is working at the prison.   18th November 2022 In-game timeline: Start of session: 1489DR Hammer 17. End of session: 1490DR Hammer 19 Our Heroes have been asked to infiltrate Neverember Manor to discover some information that could aid the Little Fingers in either bringing Neverember down, or giving them some level of control over his actions and plans for Neverwinter. They have been offered the help of a "master lockpicker", as they are a little inexperienced in this particular skill, and it could prove useful in such an endeavour. However, the thief they have been offered is someone known to, and very much disliked by, Derrick. A gnome named Gribald. The party discuss their options, and also receive some information from the Little Fingers - both in the form of a map of the interior of the Manor, and the guard movements around the manor, as well as some notes on Neverember's movements and appointments over the next few days - some of which may give them opportunities for infiltrating the Manor, ...

Session 59 - The Return of Gribald!

11th November 2022 In-game timeline: Start of session: 1489DR Hammer 8. End of session: 1490DR Hammer 17 Our Heroes are able to spend a day in Baldur's Gate. Karoshi is off doing his own thing. Derrick asks around town about Lispeth and Redback and gets a hint that they caught a caravan to Waterdeep sometime about 2-3 weeks ago, but found out no more info. Jaxii, without hesitation, gets a temporary job for the day in the local brothel, as "an exotic" and has a financially profitable time there, but doesn't find out much info, though her dragonborn client, Finxal, believes he got great value for money from Jaxii in her dominatrix persona. Jaxii herself doesn't seem to mind not getting any useful information, and worryingly seems to very much enjoy the experience. Session 58 - Karoshi Signs Up Two New Kovacs

21st October 2022 In-game timeline: Start of session: 1489DR Nightal 25. End of session: 1490DR Hammer 8 Our Heroes are faced by at least two stone giants, brandishing large rocks. After a minor, tactical retreat, Karoshi tries talking to them. One, who they later find out is called Vorold and has a withered arm and a stammer, accuses them of being looters and tells them to leave. Karoshi fails to convince them otherwise, but Iwee does a good job of persuading them to give them a chance. Vorold asks Iwee to approach alone, weaponless, and she takes the risk and does so. After some conversation with the gentle, and persuasive, gnome, Vorold, and his mute friend Gurdis, seem to be convinced they are not thieves, and they allow Karoshi to join Iwee in the upper temple complex. Meanwhile Jaxii and Derrick take the opportunity to have a short rest, under the watch of Gurdis. Session 57 - Mrs Wednesday is Majestic

29th September 2022 - 20:00 - 11:30 In-game timeline: Start of session: 1489DR Nightal 14. End of session: 1489DR  Nightal 25 Our Heroes are basking in the glory of saving (most of) the children of Moonfall. Derrick thinks he has fleas. Well, more accurately, the rest of the party thinks Derrick has fleas. They spend some time in Baldur's Gate practising their new level 7 abilities before deciding to head out. Derrick and Jaxii head to the library with Iwee. Iwee disappears to the "Demons" and "Self Help" sections, much to the concern of the librarian, Gladys. Her concern at that is short-lived, however, when Derrick approaches and asks if they have any books on Werewolves. Not "how to avoid", more like "how to become". Gladys wishes she had an emergency button she could press. Derrick finds some basic books, but they pretty much all just advise steering well clear of ALL lycanthropes. Session 56 - Heroes of Moonfall

9th September 2022 - 20:00 - 11:30 In-game timeline: Start of session: 1489DR Nightal 3. End of session: 1489DR  Nightal 14 Our "Heroes" are in a bad state. Exhausted, injured, worried. They consider their options. Given their situation, there are not many. The glowing device that caused Derrick and Iwee such harm seems to be fading. Derrick hopes that this means he can pick it up and he proceeds to impress the entire group by knowing the word "bindle". He uses a cloak to wrap the fading device up, luckily without harm, and ties it around his javelin. In a bindle. They decide, much to Jaxii's disappointment who wanted to have a long rest in the dark torture chamber, to avoid a battle with stained-glass knights. And avoid a possible battle with were-bears, were-wolves and were-rats on the higher levels and instead try out the area of this level they hadn't yet seen - behind a locked door. Session 55 - What An Embarrassing Way To Die

2nd September 2022 - 20:00 - 11:00 In-game timeline: Start of session: 1489DR Nightal 3. End of session: 1489DR  Nightal 3 Our "Heroes" awake in a dark room, stripped of any weapons, equipment or useful items, and most of their clothes. Lights are lit, the room is searched, Iwee passes on information about what she heard, and where she thinks they are. The room appears to be a gruesome laboratory of sorts. There are two bodies on two tables. One seems to have been dissected, the other appears to have been constructed from different donors - one of which was the other body. A set of heavy, wooden doors seems to lead to a long-past cave-in, whilst the other doors are locked. Jaxii finds enough pieces of bandage and herbs amongst the rusty surgical tools to create a single healers kit, and the party decide to spend an hour resting, although the single healers kit only allows one person to recover some health. Session 54 - We're Not Faffing, We're Stealthing

19th August 2022 - 19:45 - 11:00 In-game timeline: Start of session: 1489DR Nightal 3. End of session: 1489DR  Nightal 3 Our "Heroes" stand before some imposing wooden doors. They open them, expecting the worst. Beyond them is a room, very dark, with what looks like a mechanical contraption taking up most of the room. An inscription around the walls seems to hint at the word "Stars". A stone control panel is at the side of the room, and a small stream runs along the eastern side of the room. The contraption seems to have a number of large globes standing on poles around the room and there is a large, unlit brazier in the centre of the room. Much discussion ensues as to whether they should light the brazier, pull a lever, turn a dial or just leave well alone. The end result is an agreement to leave well alone for now and maybe come back later to play around with the contraption. They leave the room and head to the staircase doing down further into the ruins. This sta...

Session 53 - "What's That Strange Bite-Mark on Your Neck, Derrick?"

12th August 2022 - 19:45 - 11:20 In-game timeline: Start of session: 1489DR Nightal 3. End of session: 1489DR  Nightal 3 Our "Heroes" finish their 1-hour rest and decide to form a barricade from the children's' beds. No more sleep for them, then! The self-appointed "leader" of the group, a boy named Talfen Strong looks up to Derrick in a way no one else does. Derrick feels he has a new disciple for his Church. The party tell the kids to lock the door behind them and not open for anyone unless they play a specific tune on a lute. Our "Heroic" adventurers leave the children and head further into the depths of the ruins. They search the room of the lizardfolk leader who they killed earlier, finding a few goodies for their trouble. Then they head to the final room on this level - the staircase going down. Karoshi and Iwee stop to admire the impressive bas-relief carvings - this time seeming to show a Titan infiltrating a war camp of the Gods and enabli...

29th July 2022 - 19:45 - 11:00 In-game timeline: Start of session: 1489DR Nightal 3. End of session: 1489DR  Nightal 3 Our "Heroes" consider their options for rescuing the children. They return their attention to the picture on the wall. And the chalice containing horrible smelling liquid. Derrick unsurprisingly tastes the liquid and almost throws up. They spot light moving in the picture and they quickly hide - Jaxii and Iwee pressing themselves against the wall, and Karoshi and Derrick diving out of the room. Iwee creates an illusion of the sound of beating drums in the room. This confuses Derrick, though that is no reflection on the quality of the illusion. None can see the picture from their positions, and after a short while Derrick wanders back into the room and the picture seems back to its previous, "normal" state. The group senses that Derrick is getting bored. Which, based on previous experience, is dangerous. They start to act a little quicker. Derrick is...

Session 51 - "To Me, My Devil!"

13th July 2022 - 19:45 - 11:30 In-game timeline: Start of session: 1489DR Nightal 3. End of session: 1489DR  Nightal 3 Our "Heroes" are surrounded by dead lizardfolk. "Lesser beings" according to Jaxii, perhaps in justification for her mindless slaughter. Knowing that other lizardfolk are lurking somewhere in the ruins, the party decide no to rest, though Karoshi does heal up Derrick a little. Iwee meanwhile, quickly loots the bodies, finding some intriguing, if not particularly valuable, items and a little gold, which she wants to put aside, saving for someone to help her rid her of her curse, which she admits to the others is starting to bother her a little - though *not* enough to warrant Derrick killing her - "just in case". While the others are distracted, Jaxii spots some large lizards running out from behind the big tower, heading towards them. Iwee quickly fires off a Hypnotic Pattern spell, managing to charm one of the lizards and stopping it in i...

Session 50 - "To Me, My Gnome!"

8th July 2022 - 19:45 - 11:30 In-game timeline: Start of session: 1489DR Nightal 2. End of session: 1489DR  Nightal 3 Our "Heroes" are exhausted from their trek across the swamp, Jaxii literally. They have arrived at what they think is the ruins of An-Sen, but think it is wise to rest before attempting to enter, or even approach, the ruins. Owl Pacino is in his element - flying around at dusk checking out what is around. After a short period of scouting, her returns to report that there are some "scaled creatures" that are within the four large towers at the edges of the ruins. Some debate ensued about whether these were Dragonborn, snakes, lizards or even dragons! As night falls, Iwee spots a light coming from one of the large towers, confirming what Pacino reported. The party rest for the night - not exactly relaxing, but enough to rid Jaxii of some of her exhaustion, and quiet enough for everyone to gain some healing, though Derrick and Iwee seem to have some str...

Session 49 - Iwee Somehow Uses Insight and Persuasion to Navigate a Swamp!

20th May 2022 - 19:45 - 11:30 In-game timeline: Start of session: 1489DR "The Feast of the Moon". End of session: 1489DR  Nightal 2 Our "Heroes" are cautiously recovering from a tough battle with some sneaky, quick and cunning fey creatures. Jaxii is very exhausted. The patch of darkness that caused them so many problems slowly disappears, but none of the creatures that the party think are still around seem to be visible. Hence, the caution that the our "Heroes" are, for once perhaps, displaying. They approach the unmoving body of who they assume to be the dryad, Calista, which is lying at the bottom of a large, old oak tree. Derrick can see a thin, silver rope, loosely tied around the leg of the body and wrapped around the tree. Derrick approaches the auburn-haired dryad and is able to discern that she is sleeping, or unconscious, but luckily not dead. Jaxii tries to encourage Derrick to lick her foot. Not sure why.
