Session 100 - About The Gestation Period Of Dragonborn

23rd Mar 2025

In-game timeline: Start of session: 1490DR Mirtul 12. End of session: 1490DR Mirtul 16

Our "Heroes" have managed to unite the clans! In returning the captured dragonborn to the Sintara clan, the group persuade them to make the first move towards reconciliation, and the Nakshatra clan respond in kind, and talks, albeit a little frosty at first, begin to happen for the first time in centuries.

Jaxii receives her rewards from both sides, and from her ancestors, and spends some days levelling up. They are then summoned to a council of both the Sintara and Nakshatra elders. At this council, both clans combine their knowledge of Yegmirs Arm, and tell what Neverember and Castellan know, as a result of their previous visits to both clans.

Our "Heroes" come away with a poem, a map and the knowledge of the need for Naksinta blood to activate the Arm - a problem as there has not been a Naksinta clan member alive for 500 years.

At this point Jaxii, somewhat less reluctantly than you would expect, enthusiastically offers to mate with a Sintara male dragonborn, to produce an offspring that will have combined blood that could do the problem. Our brave "Heroes" seemed to have no qualms about using Jaxii as a brood mother, and to happily sacrifice any baby that would appear (despite the DM emphasising that only a drop of blood would likely be needed!)

This plan was discussed at length, until it was discovered that the gestation period for dragonborn is about 3 years. This was considered to be perhaps too long to wait, so an alternative plan was sought.

Listening politely, albeit a little shocked, to this discussion of offering Jaxii up to the cause, the clans' elders tell of a Nakshatra, Genrick, and a Sintara, Acean, who eloped some years before, and who were both exiled from their respective clan villages for this act. They are living in the Hallack Forest nearby, and one of the elders has heard that they have given birth to a son, Pristis. It was suggested that perhaps Pristis would have the required Naksinta blood - though they reiterated that probably only a few drops would be needed - as our "Heroes" had quickly started talking about how they would sacrifice Pristis.

With finding Pristis being one option, the group turn their attention to the poem and the map. It seems this would point to the location of Yegmir's Arm, which had been hidden somewhere and protected by a Guardian - a beholder who was employed for the task some 700 years ago.

They figure out that the map needs to be placed on a stone in a small glade called the Glade of the Moon, about 10 miles away from the Nakshatra clan village. Our "Heroes" decide to abandon, for now, the plan for Jaxii to give birth, and instead take the map to this glade to try to determine the location of Yegmir's Arm, knowing that Neverember probably already has gathered this information.

They quickly set off for this glade and arrive late in the evening. By the light of the full moon they place the map on a particular stone, and at midnight, the light of the full moon shines through a hole in one of the standing stones, landing upon a small point in the map! They seem to have discovered where Yegmir's Arm is now located.

As they put the map away and prepare to leave the glade and return to the clan village to rest for the night, they spot some blood on the ground. Derrick stoops to check it out, and the others spot movement in the bushes nearby. Suddenly the party is under attack by a pack of hungry, wild apes!

With Jaxii immediately declaring that this is the end of things, and there is no point carrying on, the others get to work on taking down the apes. Eventually Jaxii remembers she is a barbarian, not a teenage goth, and draws her greatsword and rushes forward to challenge the giant ape that seems to lead the troop.

With Jaxii back on board, they make quick work of the apes, though Iwee is a little frustrated at her inability to be particularly effective in this fight, though Jaxii did make good use of some Bardic Inspirations thrown her way.

Tired, but with new-found knowledge about Yegmir's Arm, our heroes head back to the clan village to rest up and work out which of their many plans (including getting Jaxii to conceive) they will go for…
