Session 37 - Let Me Explain What QUIETLY Means, Derrick!

12th Nov 2021 - 19:45 - 11:30 In-game timeline: Start of session: 1489DR Uktar 04. End of session: 1489DR Uktar 05 Our "Heroes" are recovering from a tough fight with some Harpies, two of which escaped, and Iwee is having to use hand signals to communicate with the others, who still have various cloths and foodstuffs stuffed in their ears to protect against the Harpies songs. They follow the path northward heading towards where they think the Abbey is located. After an hour or so they see in the distance what looks like a number of stone buildings, some of which seem to be ruined, and some large patches of cultivated land growing crops of some sort. They see no movement amongst the buildings or fields, so they stealthily approach the nearest building, which happens to be a ruin, but has walls high enough to hide behind. Session 36 - A Dragonborn Family Reunion

29th Oct 2021 - 19:45 - 11:30 In-game timeline: Start of session: 1489DR Uktar 04. End of session: 1489DR Uktar 04 Our "Heroes" awake to find they have been robbed, and a handsome pirate is sitting before them, sharpening his scimitar. He is pleasant enough, introduces himself as "Blue", short for Bluespot, which our group of switched-on adventurers completely fail to link to the name given by pirate Skull back on Shadow Isle. After some spluttering introductions, where all the hardened "pirate-Heroes" seemed to have already forgotten their own, and each other's, pirate names, they come up with some really convoluted waffle about why they are here and who they are. None of their stories match, and our intrepid adventurers decide it's a good idea to tell a member of the Radiant Sisters that their floating island base made of volcanic lava has not only burnt down, but also sunk. Oh, and rather than build upon Blue's assumption that they are here ...

Session 35 - Dem Bones, Dem Bones

15th Oct 2021 - 19:45 - 11:00 In-game timeline: Start of session: 1489DR Uktar 03. End of session: 1489DR Uktar 04 Our "Heroes" are desperate to rest a while to recover some health and abilities after a couple of quite tough battles against strange, crystal skeletons. Unfortunately they had forgotten about the three skeletons that were forced to run away by Karoshi's Channel Divinity ability. As the group settle to meditate and recover for a while, they fail to spot the three crystal undead running towards them over a nearby dune and before they can gather their thoughts, the creatures are upon them! The first skeleton luckily misses Iwee, and Jaxii responds to the creatures' sudden appearance by smashing one with her mace, and then following up by crushing its red crystal heart. Session 34 - Iwee Saves The Day!

1st Oct 2021 - 19:45 - 11:45 In-game timeline: Start of session: 1489DR Marpenoth 28. End of session: 1489DR Uktar 03 Our "Heroes" finish their preparations in the town of Neverwinter, stocking up on supplies and honing their skills. Bryn reports that he has managed to arrange a contract to deliver some cargo to the island of Ruathym - this will enable him to get away from Neverwinter with some of the escaped pirates and carve out a new business. He offered to ferry the party to the Abbey Isle on the way. After some discussion, the group decided to get Bryn to drop them off, then deliver his cargo and come back for them after about three days, where he would wait for a day or so for them to return to the ship and he would bring them back to Neverwinter. Our "Heroes" took back to the sea - Derrick not at all impressed to be off of dry land once again, just as he was starting to forget the terrible sea-sickness that he suffers from. The trip to the Isle was uneventful...

Session 33 - Escape!

10th Sep 2021 - 19:45 - 10:45 In-game timeline: Start of session: 1489DR Marpenoth 18. End of session: 1489DR Marpenoth 28 Our "Heroes" are racing from Shadow Isle, pursued by pirates, with Bree's ship, the Demon's Wish waiting not too far away. Their escape vessel, The Evening Mist, is running a much reduced crew, some of whom, despite being "Heroes", are no sailors - in fact Derrick is developing a rapid and intense hatred of the sea.  The party discuss tactics of how to overrun Pirate Captain Bree's ship to obtain the compass to allow them to always locate the Shadow Isle. Bryn gives these discussions short shrift. He explains, as if to a class of young children, that there is NO WAY that their limited crew would be able to pull alongside the Demon's Wish, enable a group large enough to make any sort of impression upon Bree and his crew to board the target boat, wait long enough to allow the compass to be retrieved, and then escape and outrun the ...

Session 32 - No more planning - LET'S DO IT!

27th Aug 2021 - 19:45 - 00:30 In-game timeline: Start of session: 1489DR Marpenoth 18. End of session: 1489DR Marpenoth 18 Our "Heroes" are back in the Inn, discussing plans. Derrick slips away from the welcoming arms of Skull to rejoin his friends, though after going round in circles regarding a "Plan", he decides to go back to bed with Skull. Iwee is concerned when a group of very drunk dwarves start to sing the banned "Pirate Song". She tries to tell them to keep quiet. It doesn't work. Her attempt to find out if they are keen to join "the rebellion" fails when she realises they are too drunk to have any meaningful conversation. Bryn, thinking that some confusion needs to be sown around town, steps in and offers the drunk dwarves a discount at his brothel - an offer they react enthusiastically to - but in a surprising change of attitude Bryn backtracks on his offer, steals their money and threatens them with his axe. Session 31 - What Happens on Shadow Isle... Stays on Shadow Isle

30th Jul 2021 - 19:45 - 23:30 In-game timeline: Start of session: 1489DR Marpenoth 16. End of session: 1489DR Marpenoth 17 Our "Heroes" are starting on their first day in their new jobs. Derrick impresses the other Dock Workers with his strength, intelligence (! They aren't all that bright, those Dock Workers!), elocution and Magic-Boy skills. He starts to form a network of "Regulators" - dock workers and urchins who can go anywhere around the small town and report back to Derrick.  Karoshi struggles to get many words out of his boss , Malek,  at the "Shape Ya Booty" forge. He is able to chat in private with Brighton and finds out a bit more about the Dragon Turtles and the Sahuagin - most notably that their entire area on the Isle is under water. Iwee is so focussed on making a good impression during her entertainment sessions at the "Fill Ya Booty" Tavern, and in crafting her new "Pirate Song" that she doesn't hear too much go...

Session 30 - Information Gathering

23rd Jul 2021 - 20:00 - 23:30 In-game timeline: Start of session: 1489DR Marpenoth 12. End of session: 1489DR Marpenoth 16 We rejoin our "Heroes", triumphant at successfully navigating The Gauntlet, and joining the ranks of the Radiant Sisters as real Pirates! The following few days are spent in training. Brighton teaches them all a trick or two that will help them in their new lives as pirates… or as their continued lives as adventurers. They find out quite a bit about the island and how it works, and start to formulate a plan for achieving some of their aims whilst on the island. Unfortunately, one of these aims - to rescue Bob the cabin boy - takes a backwards step when Brighton hears a boy, probably Bob, being taken into the Sahuagin area one night (our "Heroes" are fast asleep), shortly after their success in The Gauntlet. Brighton doesn't hold out much hope for Bob. Fully recovered and trained up, the group head back to the Docks area in order to gather mo...

Session 29 - Now We're PIRATES!

 16th Jul 2021 - 19:45 - 23:30 In-game timeline: Start of session: 1489DR Marpenoth 12. End of session: 1489DR Marpenoth 12 Our "Heroes" are mid-Gauntlet, trying to prove that they are willing and able to become pirate members of the Radiant Sisters gang. With "Teamwork" and "Bravery" already bested, only "Sacrifice" and "Intelligence" remain. Or so they thought… The next challenge is again a pool of liquid - this time in a pool that covers most of the room, and this time it is not an open water pool, but a relatively shallow pool… of acid! The task seems to be to get a heavy anchor over to the far side of the room in order to unlock the door. After much discussion and debate, Derrick reminds the others that he is wearing a nice pair of boots, that, despite his exhaustion, give him decent movement and jumping ability. They seem perfect for this task! Derrick lifts the heavy anchor and uses his magic boots to leap across the pool of acid...

Session 28 - AAAAAARRRRRRRrrrrr!!

End of session: 1489DR Marpenoth 12 We rejoin our "Heroes" all trussed up in the hold of The Evening Mist, which is being sailed by pirates having been boarded and taken over by Pirate Captain Bree. Whilst Derrick spends his time trying not to be seasick, Iwee keeps her own, and others' spirits up by composing a sea shanty, which is very quickly adopted by the pirates - rumour has it that even Pirate Captain Bree is entertained by it!
